The Key Mechanical Equipment (KME) group within Honeywell UOP Process Technologies provides highly-reliable mechanical offerings through the use of intellectual property and our network of qualified suppliers, enabling process guarantees for UOP-licensed processes. Equipment offered by KME improves or enables petrochemical and refining technologies, as well as process technologies being used in new sustainable technology solutions.
KME’s mission is to provide highly-specialized proprietary equipment for new UOP-licensed units to enable superior guarantees, and for reload and revamp opportunities to improve process performance and mechanical reliability of existing units. We maintain a limited base of equipment suppliers who have undergone rigorous and extensive qualifications led by UOP for each product they supply, including UOP-approved QA/QC procedures. To ensure a high value is provided to our customers, we utilize a continuous pipeline of innovations developed in-house and in collaboration with our key suppliers.
Included in our offerings are UOP engineering and shop inspection, fully warranted equipment and services, and a dedicated UOP KME Project Manager as the single point of contact for all equipment related communication.
Adsorbent Chamber Internals are used primarily in UOP Sorbex processes, including Parex, MX Sorbex, Molex, and MF Molex. They promote uniform and consistent flow distribution to/from adsorbent chamber beds and provide physical support for adsorbent beds within adsorbent chambers.
The rotary valve is a crucial component in an aromatics complex. Its robust design and rotating functionality allow the rotary valve to reliably meet product and capacity needs. As with all rotating equipment, several components of the rotary valve require regular maintenance to ensure reliability and functionality. UOP can provide crucial maintenance spare parts to help customer proactively maintain the rotary valve during regular maintenance, emergency situations or planned site turnaround
UOP OlefinTM Cracking Process Reactor Internals enable even distribution of process gas flow across the catalyst bed in a mechanically-challenging, high-frequency cyclic service. The system is tuned to reduce pressure drop and residence time, which in turn minimizes non-selective thermal cracking, diolefin creation and coking.
CatMax, used in both fixed bed and Continuous Catalyst Regeneration (CCR) reactor operations, defines catalyst bed physical configuration and promotes uniform radial flow distribution through catalyst bed while allowing for a continuous flow of catalyst for regeneration. These internals are designed with high-reliability, outlasting D-shaped scallops significantly.
UOP’s Enhanced Regenerator Inner Screen Internals are designed for CycleMax CCR units. The internals consist of an Inner Screen, and Outer Screen, and a Tertiary Screen, designed for increased reliability at sections of higher thermal stress.
UOP Prefilters and Coalescers work to remove particulate matter and caustic / high-pH water from feed in UOP-licensed Merox and IsoAlky units. These vessels can be packages as a modular skid, reducing on-site erection costs and schedule.
