Low-emission and energy efficient combustion technologies developed to meet new environmental regulations
TULSA, Okla., Dec. 18, 2019 — Honeywell UOP announced today that its Callidus® business, which specializes in thermal combustion products for the oil and gas industry, celebrated its 30th year developing technologies designed to meet more stringent environmental regulations.
Callidus was established in Tulsa in 1989 to provide advanced process burner solutions for the refining and petrochemical industries. Today, Callidus now provides a broad portfolio of engineered products and services, including flares that reduce visible emissions, burner technologies that minimize formation of nitrogen oxides, and thermal oxidizers to treat and dispose of carcinogenic and harmful waste products from industrial plants.

Since it was created, Callidus Technologies has earned nearly 50 patents while investing in its Tulsa-area operations and at a growing facility in China. Callidus equipment has been used in more than 300 plants globally. The business employs more than 200 people at facilities in Tulsa and Beggs, Okla., and in Shanghai, China.

Based in Tulsa, Okla., Callidus Technologies was acquired by Honeywell in 2008. It became part of Honeywell UOP, a global leader in process technologies for the oil and gas industry, in 2012, and currently serves customers worldwide from Tulsa and a China headquarters in Shanghai.
